Day 7, Hijrah.

It has been a week now that we are here, meeting new people, living, striving, and fighting hard surviving life challenges. We have met Jordanian, one who owns a supermarket and another, a fast food chain. We have met a Pakistani who has migrated here and drives a cab for a living, another who also opened up a fast food restaurant and another who runs a gas station franchise. They are my Muslim brothers, far away from home, trying to make a better living out here. These made me think of this verse (4:97):

Allah has made this Earth wide enough for us. If we choose to stay and remain at a certain location, then it has become our duty and responsibility to take good care of it and improve anyway we possibly can as His vicegerent on Earth. If we are in a state of oppression, or feel powerless to make any positive changes, then it is our duty to move to someplace else and have better life as Muslims, a life that pleases his Lord. I am always keeping this option open.

But right now, I wish to grow as a Muslim. I wish to make changes. And I wish I would never have to use the option.
