Ah? Thoriqoots? A March? Maulid? Ape...?



I was in a cab and the traffic was bad.

Suddenly the driver said: “There’s a maulid!” pointing at two men slinging a red material on them.

I got confused, “hah? what maulid?”

“A maulid! Maulid! Allah! Allah!” Replied the old driver moving his body and pointing his fingers upward as though he was dancing. “The roads in front are all closed!”

I paid the cab driver and took off early as the road congestions got worst. I walked the rest of my journey, and there it was….

A march by different groups of thoriqoots from Al-Azhar Street to Al-Hussein Mosque.


No idea still, but it was a fun filling experience. Hah. XD
